Just recently, I had the opportunity of going to the Grand Designs Live show at the Convention & Exhibition Center, in Melbourne. Held between the 25-27 of October, the show consisted of over 200 exhibitors, free advice sessions and plenty of design ideas and innovations for the garden and the home.
Design shows and exhibitions are fantastic and absolutely worthwhile for anyone wanting to renovate and/or redecorate their home, with plenty of free sessions run by industry professionals giving a range of advice on decorating, gardening and the like, such as Karen McCartney, founder of Inside Out magazine pictured below. There are always a diverse collection of stalls ranging from lighting, upholstery, tools, ironing boards and 'eye massages'.

I would highly recommend visiting one of these shows, whether it be Grand Designs, or an annual Home Show exhibition, if not for design inspiration, then to further design network in knowledge! Who knows, you may even see Kevin McCloud!
